Our mission

The mission of AFAE is dedicated to empowering children and people with autism through programming that focuses on building skills and confidence that allows them to achieve their full potential beyond community support and advocacy.

Our vision

At AFAE, we want to live in a world where people of all abilities have equitable access to programming that supports skill building and increasing independence as well as supporting. We envision in the future where we have a sustainable community that nurtures individuals, especially children, with Autism to live to their full potential.

Our Purpose

Our purpose at Actions for Autism Empowerment (AFAE) is to not only increase awareness for individuals on the spectrum and other neurodiversities, but also provide opportunities for community members to join in and be involved! Many individuals (especially children) are isolated socially and academically through schools and other community spaces. At AFAE, we hope to provide a safe space that will bridge the current cultural and linguistic gaps that exists in the wider locality. Through the different types of programming (linked here) available for view on the Programs Page of this website, we hope to increase motor skills and dexterity, improve social skills, boost creativity, develop self confidence, increase independence, and promote/develop friendships among the neurodivergent but also the neurotypical.
